beginning brumation pics

sledge Mar 18, 2005 06:14 PM

i have begun the brumation process and i would like some feedback to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

here if my first pic- this is the inside of the cooler.
i have put 2-3 inches of damp sand then mixed a little dry sand in as well. there are 3 lizards in the cooler, two have burrowed under as i expected but my stubborn female has fallen out on the sand, this ok?

the cooler i am using has a built in cooler and heater, but it does not have a thermostat built in. here is a pic of the fridge controller i am using, it also has cooling heating mode. i figure this whole contraption can double as an incubator. the little snowflake tells you your in cooling mode. you can also set the on/off range from 1-30 degrees. i plan on using this with a large freezer possibly.

this is just a shot of the hot/cold plug on the cooler. if anyone is interested this is a coleman cooler with house and car adapter. it can also be used vertical or horizantal.

I like your set up. I am going to be puting my collards away next year in hopes they will mate. Where did you get the cooler and how much do they run? It looks like it is perfect for the little guys.
