Hey, I got a question, if anyone knows the answer. I wanted to get my Ball Python and Red Tailed Boa mite shots and wanted to know the name of the medication used and where I could purchase the items and also a scale. If anyone knows the answers to any of those questions please let me know. Thanks

....you're probably thinking of ivermectin...but while the shot properly-dosed can kill both mites and ticks, it doesn't do anything for the snake's environment, and in a matter of days/few weeks, the snake becomes reinfected...

better to use something that will treat the environment while at the same time treats the snake...No-Pest Strip, Provent-A-Mite, etc...and remember to treat the EXTERNAL surfaces of the cages...mites residing OUTSIDE the cage act as reserviors of reinfection.

They are a pain in the butt. The pest strips work
about the best but if you keep other herps that eat
insects or keep spiders etc. the strips will kill them to.
I keep multiple species so I use Reptile Relief. And like
Scott said exterior cleaning is very important. Once you
notice them their more than likely all over the cage.
Mites can infest in no time and quick responce is needed.
I treat ALL new animals I receive just to be shure.
