UTHs are great because of energy efficiency. But it's important to note that hognoses (and MANY other herps) bury into the ground to escape heat. Heat from the bottom is therefore unnatural. Consider using a full spectrum incandescent as a main heat source. UTH can certainly be used as a supplement.
