Red ear slider laying eggs

ericasa Mar 19, 2005 12:44 PM

Hello.
My female slider was acting really weird past few days. I think she stopped eating coz food has been floating in the tank. Anyways, today I took her outside and she started digging in the sand so I think she might be laying eggs. But a few hours have passed and she is still in the same position and it's hard to tell if eggs have been laid. Should I leave her outside all night long even if it's pretty cold outside 60 degrees F (15 degrees C) and windy? Or should I move her back in the tank? Thanks.

Can you get a 50 gallon Rubbermaid tub and fill it with several inches of dirt or mulch so she can dig inside?
