Help ASAP please....Regarding heating

Zhar Mar 19, 2005 01:11 PM

Ok I have a good size tank, I have made it so the right side is the cool side and the basking side(left) is, well the basking side lol. The light is about 6" above his log and when it was 3" above it was reading around 120F, and it still prolly woulda went up. What is the best temp to keep baskeing spot at? He chills there alot to, its his log. What should I do? Is it to hot or what?

(This is the cage I have but mines black and looks nicer and has a stand that makes it sit about 4½feet tall)

The basking temps should be around 95-116F. 120F is a little too high, espeecially if the temps are still rising. Raise the basking light higher or lower the basking spot.

OR change the wattage of your bulb to a lower wattage.
