My carpet cham is rearing around 4 months, this 27th. He has grown A LOT. But what I've noticed was that he wants a women! LOL! Just to see if he was sexually mature, even though his hemipenal bulge is very present I showed my brother's veiled to him while he was still in the cage. He immediately colored up and started "bobbing" his head and rushed over to the closest wall of the cage. My brother's cham was unresponsive LOL. Should I get a female WC adult nongravid for him or is it too early for mating? I've bred reptiles before but never chameleons and I'd really like to experience it.

Hes about 3.25Inch SVL but let me tell you, he fires up for Dot like a real STUD!!

If he is interested in the females, then it si worth a shot, but due to him being young, it MAY affect the fertility of the clutch, generally try to wait for adult size, but with a male, I really don't see the problem with it. I would not recomend to do something like this with a young female, as females are likely to develop complications. But just a caution, if you do breed him to a wc female, make sure she is parasite and disease free, as these things can pass hosts while mating, and you don't want to lose this guy after all this hard work you put into him. If you look hard and ask around, I'm sure you could find a cb female, as cb carpets are becoming more common lately (Atleast in my observation). But if you do go with the wc female, you will have some more waiting to do, while she acclimates and her system is clensed. Again, this is just my opion. Good luck!
