Better picture of my hatchling and some questions!

eve_scotland Mar 19, 2005 08:19 PM

Okay so as ive posted before these 2 little girls hatched out yesterday. One is considerably thinner and smaller than the other and i am just wondering about housing 2gether - they have been following each other around all day and was just wondering if it would be wise 2 separate them? Secondly when should they start feeding - they dont seem very interested in food at the moment, i am planning on feeding mealworms, dusted obviously, is this okay when they are so young? Thanx for your replies!

Cute little girls you got there! The thinner one looks like it didn't suck up its yolk sack when it hatched. Its fine, she will be ok. They won't need to eat until about 4-7 days old right after they shed. Becuase they are female and clutch mates...they should be great cage mates. Feed them enough so they all get there fill so fight for food and one won't outgrow the other. But watch for it.

Goos luck to you! They look adorable!

I think it might be a good idea to separate them - even if they are both females, one will often take more of the food and the other may be bullied. It is important they get enough food and vitamins at this time because they are doing the most growing.

At this stage right now it is fine to keep them together..... As they get older and start competing for food or it is two males, it would be a good idea to give them their own space.....
