I was thinking of possibly getting a 14 inch flourescent blacklight setup on a photo cell for each of my cages... the only problem is the cost.. im looking at about $25/fixture for this. My cages are 4'x2'x2' and I was wondering does anybody have any idea for a low profile light fixture I could put in the cages? I was considering something along the lines of what cap'n hook did but I don't really want anything that large in there.

I was also thinking maybe a red high intensity led light for a boat... but would that be bright enough to light the cage? (red)

If ya need for UVB this won't work but look at furniture stores or ask the hardware stores if they sell micro halogen lighting. Each light is like 2 1/2" across and you can link 3 to a transformer. Knind like the ones in curio cabinents they run like 40 for a 3 pack.

I think they come in red as well I'll look again.
