Now most people would say buy hets. Well I'm not most people. I would invest in a Granite. Granites have really surprised me. I didnt think they would turn out to all that great. The Albino Granite, which isnt proven yet, is beautiful. The Marbled Pastel, Granite x Pastel, is amazing. And a Yellow Belly x Granite makes an Ebony. And an Ebony x Ebony makes an Ivory. So, I'd have to say Granite. And with $700 you can buy more than two.

Actually a Yellow Belly X Yellow Belly makes and Ivory, not an Ebony X Ebony. They Ebony has not been fully proven out as to what it will possibly produce.

I agree that Yellow Belly x Yellow Belly makes an Ivory. But according to John Berry Reptiles a Yellow Belly x Granite makes an Ebony, and Ebony x Ebony makes an Ivory. I dont know if this is true, Im just going by what he said.

That would stand to reason...since an Ebony is a Yellowbelly-Granite.

Thats what I thought at first, but since Granites are dominate and Yellowbellies are co-dom, wouldn't they just produce more yellowbellies and granites?

That's what I would think. But according to John Berry they produce the Ebony (all black with black eyes). And two Ebonys produce the Ivory. Maybe it's like the Blue Eyed Leucistic. There's so many ways to produce a Blue Eyed Lucy I can't keep track of them all. Even though some mixes produce a whiter snake and some produce a snake with a little yellow, they are still beautiful snakes. I'd love to have one in my collection.

What page is it on, I see where he says that you can cross a YB & granite and get ebony. And I see where he says 2 YBs make an ivory. I don't see where he says 2 ebonies make an ivory, what page is it on, I'd like to see his theory. Thanks.

I think I misread it last night. I did the post at like 3 in the morning. This is what it says "... they produce the Ebony Ball and when crossed together, the Super form produces the Ivory Ball..." Now that I re-read it after getting some sleep I think what he meant was Yellow Bellies crossed together makes an Ivory, not Ebonies crossed together. This means no more speed reading at 3 in the morning for me. Sorry for the confusion.

I've had those nights (and some days to). I just thought I was missing something, it would have been an interesting theory tho. I guess I'll have to ask the punnet square gods what Ebonies produce.

my first thought was a pastel male.but then you have one male no females and it doesn't do you any good.....

as said.buy all the females you can this year and then in a year or two go for the pastel male.......

.........yes females sell for $7 to $100 each depending on where it was born and who you get it from..........

....yes you can get captive born in the USA for $40 more or less..........*(from people who don't lie and sell you African crap for that).........

here are some ideas on how to spend $700:

1) buy as many baby females as you can - grow them and resell
2) buy a male pastel and reg female
3) buy 1.1 100% het albinos

like i said, it all depends on what you want to do. make money, make morphs, or just have a great hobby ! hope this helps.
