Total Outrage!

I went over to a relative today, and in talking about my geckos she told me her roomate had one. I asked her if she knew what kind, and she didn't know. So being the reptile freak I am, I had to investigate. The tank was in a darkened room, I fumbled around for a light, and finally she came and turned it on for me. immediatly I wish she never had. The pathetic thing in the cage resembled a leo, it was more of a living skeleton. I almost threw up. It was dehydrated, starved, in short the poor thing is suffering. He has it on some kind of round pellet stuff, and WOOD SHAVINGS!!! I immediatly told her to ask him if I could take it, even if only to help it recover. I hope he says yes, she is supposed to ask him tommorow. Please pray for the little one, and that I will be able to save it from a horrible death. I would also like to send out a plea to all those thinking of getting into reptiles, please think before you buy. Read up on them, make sure you know what you are doing. Remember to treat them as you would want to be treated. They are totally dependent on us. This goes for not only reptiles but all animals. Thank you. This kind of thing goes on way too much.

Thats horrible! I hope that you get him too! Ill be thinking of the poor little guy! You are like me - rescued a little one about 3 weeks ago and the pet shop owners had him / her in terrible conditions and informed me when i purchased the leo that they werent dealling in reptiles any longer (MUCH TO MY RELIEF!) and were going 2 release it into the wild?!? I live in Scotland (UK) and its freezing!!! There only saving grace is that they are giving up on gecko's - thank god!!!

Good luck with your resuce!

Here's a pic of the little one i have taken in

After finding 7 baby Leo's in the garbage recently...nothing surprises me...but it still breaks my heart! If talking doesn't convince this person to give you the leo...fight for it.ASPCA threats may be all thats needed.Unfortunately , we may never find the guy who killed 3 of the 7 babies we found...but you know where this person is.Call the ASPCA and tell them what is going on...best of luck.Sounds like that little one has someone finally looking out for him!

People like that don't need animals at all. People that don't take care of their animals make me sick and I'd love to treat them the same way they treat their animals. I've been told more than once that the only animals I take are the ones that I feel sorry for or that have been abused but I'd rather take the ones that need it than the ones that have good homes or will go to good homes because most people won't take the time to deal with an animal thats been mistreated. My poor female sat in the pet store I go to for two weeks before I bought her, this was just before Christmas last year, when all the others were on hold. The only reason no one wanted her is because she was starved and missing toes. Her former owners treated her like crap and dumped her at the pet store because they didn't want her anymore. She's one of the lucky ones and if you get that little one it'll be one of the lucky ones too. I really hope that they let you have that poor little guy.
