position of laying boxes

cowtownherper Mar 20, 2005 08:51 AM

I have a couple of gals in laying boxes right now. I positioned them in the middle of the tank. Half on warm and half on cooler end. I put the boxes in on friday and neither has come out of the hide since ( that i have noticed anyway). Is this OK. They seem to be happy. Neither has had a pre lay shed I just want to be ready.

They feel secure there even if they aren't going to lay eggs for a few weeks.

One of my girls had her pre-lay shed today. Its day 29 for her. Looks like shes right on schedule. Its her first time. I think shes a little freaked out right now. Im sure the lay box makes her feel a lot more secure.
