one more?

a smile for good luck!

The first Pic leads me to believe that the smaller skink is a female. The larger one could very well be female too. Actually, they could both be male. It is just a hunch, but not an easy task. Were they sold to you as a sexed pair? Where did you get them? I noticed they were housed together. That could be risky, and it could also hinder your attempts to sex them. I strongly recommend that you keeep them apart until you are able to determin that they are a sexual pair.
James - I would love to talk to you about this in real time - do you have a messenger that I can contact you on? I'm currently online awaiting replies for this thread.
I think I have aol IM, but I think it is disabled. I am the slowest typer in the world. I cannot hold a virtual conversation
e-mail me for my #, and we can talk. Or Maybe I cvan call you.

The thinner of the two was rescued from the wild due to tick infestation. I've had lil for just over 2yrs. The bigger on I bought from a local pet store. I was told she was probably female but due to the lack of knowledge I tend not to believe anything they say. The little one has attacked the bigger one twice within the past 2months - but they generally are close and like buddies. The sleep with each other and I've had basically no problems with them being together. When they get active they generally walk over each other and that's about as physical as it gets, but when I noticed the biting - it was the littler one biting just behind the fron legs of the bigger one which lead me to believe that the little one could be male and it could have been a mating attempt.
I'm in Melbourne Australia - so as you May know our seasons vary from one hour to the next - and I know that mating doesn't hold to spring here.
I'd be interested to hear what you have to say and If you do have a messenger I'd appreciate a talk.

I still feel very strongly that they should be seperated until you know that they are a sexed pair, and who is who. And even then, I personally would still keep them apart, with the exception of breeding visits. I recommend keeping unsexed skinks on artificial Turf. Seminal plugs stick out like a soar thumb on that stuff. I had a feeling you were in Australia. I guess I will have to come visit. I am guessing that it is the breeding season for these guys right about now, so I would seperate them and put them both on turf, and then wait a couple of days. After that, I would start introducing the bigger one into the smaller one's enclosure while supervising very closely. Good luck. and drop me an e-mail any time. tiliquaman@aol.com
