Where can I find a good quality green iguana?

reamk924 Mar 20, 2005 01:44 PM

I know there are a great deal of breeders out there who sell iggs. They are a dime-a-dozen. But who breeds and sells the best? I am looking to get a baby soon.

I don't trust anyone who breeds green iguanas.

Try a rescue. www.greenigsociety.org
www/iguanafirst.com

THere are plenty and we can't take them all.

I agree. I almost dont see the need for anyone to be breeding Ig's, and i certainly dont see the need to buy babies when there are so many unwanted adults out there. And, contrary to popular belief, not all rescue igs are "terrors." Many are sweet dispositioned iggys who simply got too big for their owners, or were owned by someone who lost interest. Getting a rescue ig, espeically if its tame already is usefull too because then you can skip the whole process of trying to tame down a hatchling, which can be quite arduous.
