I'm just looking for input on ultimate cage sizes for nile monitors. Ranges from "minimun" to "ideal" are what i'm looking for, esp. seeking input from those who are currently housing adult niles. my little beast appears to have already hit the 18 inches length snout to vent, so it seems i already need to start considering his adult cage. I'm building him a 6x3x4 ft cage should be ready for his move-in by friday!, hoping for it to last him at least 4-6 months. Thanks for any input!

since i am in fl, i have been considering the idea of an outdoor enclosure. I'm just unsure about the permits and such involved in that, getting permits is always such a run-around, i dont dare make a move without getting one, i've had the neighbors find things done to the property 30 years before i lived here to call code enforcement about. i know i've seen a really neat in-ground type tegu enclosure (photo gallery someplace) i really liked, would need to have a top, although the rainy season ("season" meaning, all year) would flood something like that. I sure do need to decide what to fast, haha, ive NEVER seen anything grow this fast. his 6x3x4 cage is half done, i know he'll love moving into it.
