Question about basking spot....

kevinBD1 Mar 21, 2005 08:31 AM

The other day I went and bought a stepping stone, its about 2in thick, 16in long, and 8 wide. It looks like kind of a red brick, but soaks up water immediately. My question is, will the surface of it get too hot and burn the monitor. I felt it last night and it was just warm to the touch, but if the monitor sits on it too long will it hurt it??

Only way to find out is to put it under a basking light and check it with a temp gun. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Have you ever felt the road on a hot summer day? Many reptiles get squished basking on these same roads.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
