YEEESSSSSSS!!!!! STEP 1 COMPLETE!!!

yes, i finally got that lizard in the temporary cage. i just picked her up when she was settled down and VERY suprisingly she didn't fight it. i'm so glad. its taken a real long time so im happy now. well i still have a couple questions cause im always worried about something. i have her in like, almost a big container, well it says "rubbermaid" on it. so im guessing its a type of rubber. well i got the light in there so i was just wondering if like this rubber stuff burning could be harmful. (it's not like rubber really, can't explain it well enough though.) then she flipped out. running from wall to wall trying to climb. i know they get crazy about new surroundings and all that but i thought she was going to die, she was like dozing off like closing her eyes and stuff, thought she was going. so people that use "temporary cages" while cleaning the main one, do they flip out with you too? she was breathing very heavy too. thanks MIKE

you could be cooking her.
Mosy collareds are pretty spastic "wall-scratchers" anyway.

Check your temps!! Sounds like you built a nice convection oven.

well i had the lights off today because i put duck tape all around the sides of the lid of the cage cause i'm worried because its about like 1 and 1/2 feet tall and she came pretty close when she jumped. so im not burning her. but the smell of that duck tape when its hot is terrible. is it okay that she breaths this? is there an alternative that i could use instead of duck tape to make sure she doesn't jump out? thanks MIKE

if it smells bad to you then it smells bad to them. i am not understanding the problem i guess. i know you have a rubbermaid bin but how is duct tape keeping her from getting out? if you are dead set on that rubbermaid container then here's what i would do, use the lid that came with it and cut a square out of the lid where you want lights or ventillation. then get some hardware cloth at home depot or lowes and cut some up big enough to cover the holes in the plastic lid. attach it on the top side of the lid with glue gun or better yet that duct tape ya got. since i cant see what you have for a set up i dont know if this helps at all. post a pic and we can help you better.

well i'm not using the proper top. it fits right, but it doesn't "close." i put the light under the top though, because the top has squares in it already and screen is glued and the glue will melt and smell bad. so i stick the light under the top, and that leaves some parts open, so i duck taped the openings and made sure the top won't budge. i really can't get pictures because i have no clue how to use a digital camera. does she have to be in the rubbermaid bin that long anyway, that ya need to have lights on her. How long is it taking to clean the tank?

I guess what I mean since I know you is HURRY UP, then put her back in .

ALSO I would suggest DO NOT make the main tank so hard to clean. Get RID of the huge rock, that you can never move.

Put in smaller rocks like I said last week that you can move anytime you need to to clean with her in there.

Keep it EASY and you will find it easier to clean and probably keep it much nicer.
And she will be much healthier, than if ya wait 2 years/ or whatever.

I have never had the nerve to ask, but I know Kane died , and I know Kora died, did the baby I gave you die also, and his little wild girlfriend you had?

Take care

but i really don't know where they are. i was away from home for a while, as you most likely know, and only my mom was here. she wasn't a big fan of the lizards. she thought they were and still are a waste of time. i was only home on some weekends. i come home one weekend and the little lizards are gone. she said she just gave them to a petstore. she said a guy took them and she didn't get a way to contact or reach him. she said i didn't need five lizards. she thought i had too many to handle. but she made the wrong decision to give them to some random guy. i'm so sorry because i can't even be certain where they are, or if they're alive or dead. i feel terrible about this and i hate my mom when i think of the lizards. i'm sorry. i don't know what i can do to help the situation. And talking about HATE is NEVER a GOOD thing Mike.

Especially when it's your Mom. Anyway maybe its better you and I do not know where they went or how they are, Maybe we should just hope they are okay.

I guess I think about it because he was a first hatchling of mine, and Your Dad and you and sister seemed so happy to get him. Hey things change, things we have no control over. Actually the lizards are but a small thing compared to what you have had to go through the past 2 years.

I'm sorry for everything too. But have to move on and BE TOUGH, Suck it in as........

BIG JIM would say HUNH? LOL

Do the best ya can Mike. Get her tank cleaned and her back in and , do the Best ya can

I'll always be your friend, You know when I tell ya stuff on here, its just I'm trying to help, not be a MEAN guy

well i was planning on taking like 3 days. this is because i'm washing all the rocks, getting new sand in, and i just recently found out that i can't move the rock. so i don't know, but i'm doing my best. i heard somewhere that you should wash rocks for a few hours, then wash them off for a few hours. with school and homework and stuff it limits my time. i usually just give my rock a good soap and water bath then put em back in the tank with lights on to dry em.

and if you got a heavy rock IN the cage, you can get it OUT. as a keeper of animals you should try to make things as easy as possible bro. cage maintenance is important and must be managable on a reguler basis.

lizards dont need the BIGGEST or coolest rocks. they need a clean cage.
