RhynchoophisBoulengeri finally eat by himself!

wim Mar 21, 2005 03:51 PM

Yeah. One of our R. Boulenegeri finally eat by himself. I think he eat because we have made a new (much better)cage. There are a lot of branches. There is also a big water bowl with 26 guppies (fish). Today he taked a frozen pinky by it self and eat it without any problem!!!

Greeting to all of you Gidi.

I'm very glad to hear that you were able to get at least one of your boulengeri feeding (I remember you had a pair?). The water bowl is what my rhynos are most attracted to in the cage. They do climb, but they spend 80% of their time in and around their water bowls. The male I have will totally submerge and grab fish right out of the bowl when he saw them swiming around. I've had him grab pinks as well when he was in his dish and in feeding mode.

Good luck and I hope he continues to eat with no trouble.

Here is nothing for fear (or almost nothing, young R. b. sometimes have periods of food rejecting, but if they start to eat - they will eat. I think that your general problem is feeding by dead mices, we feed them by live food objects.
