Two-Toned Crested?

PHLdyPayne Mar 21, 2005 04:13 PM

Here is a picture of one of my 9 month old crested gecko. I have noticed that she tend to have a lighter colored back compared to her sides. When younger she was mostly a uniform reddish yellow, sometimes more yellow other times darker.

Being far from an export about pattern/color morphs, I figured I will post it here and see what the more experienced breeders have to say. The parents didn't seem to exhibit this characteristic, from what I can remember. (I saw the parents when I bought the crested but don't remember if they looked like this, though both were reddish).

I'm not an expert either but in my opinion yours definitely looks like a bicolor (I think that is what they call it in Repashy's crested gecko book). I also have what was considered by the breeder as a bicolor and he has the same look to him. Very pretty crestie too by the way.

Thanks for the comments. Here is another shot of her, this time, the head.
