Thoughts on Provent-A-Mite and gravid females

ballfan Mar 21, 2005 05:27 PM

OK, Maybe you experienced breeders would care to share your thoughts on using Provent-A-Mite in the enclosure of possibly gravid females.

Do you think it would jeopardize the egg laying process, and if they do lay eggs, do you think the PAM would harm the eggs in any way?

Thanks for your opinions.

Ben

If so, they should have been taken care of before egg laying and even before breeding. Or is this a gravid import? If you follow the directions on the container, you should be ok. I would not spray the eggs though.

Unfortunately, yes, I do in 5 of about 40 tubs with females. The 5 tubs/females bred by a newly acquired male from a fellow I thought knew better.

Am planning on spraying now before egg laying.
