chicken broth???

tigerlilie2 Mar 21, 2005 05:29 PM

I recently sold one of my ball pythons and the buyer was telling me a little about a finicky eater of his. He said that he would put drops of(not pour) chicken broth onto the feeder mouse/rats and his ball python would snap them up without a problem. Has anyone heard of this trick to feeding picky eaters? I'm pretty sure its safe since its chicken broth (campbells ofcourse ), but I've never seen this on the forum before. Maybe it'll help all our problem feeders out there! =)

It's a trick I learned a long time ago. There are some that swear by it, but it's like everything else it depends on the ball. Like some balls will only eat mice, some only rats, some only gerbils, well there are some who are gaga for poultry. It's always worth a try.

I've heard of it being done with larger boids. Don't see why it wouldn't at least be worth a try.
