Ovulation and shedding

My girl has turned very dark and I know it's about time to shed. She appears to be extra large in the mid section down to the tail. Question is do they ovulate before they shed or after they shed? Any information will be helpful

....they consistently shed 18-21 days after ov...but the pre-ov shed varies from a few weeks to upwards of 10 weeks before ov, with an average of about 4-5 weeks.
