heating question

does anyone know what wattage cermaic heat lamp or which UTH would heat a ten gal. tank about ten degrees. its around 70 right now and i want it closer to 80.

It all depends on the room's environment, ventilation, drafts ect. but a 40-60W bulb/heater should work well. Use a thermometer. If to hot or cold, adjust the distance of the bulb to correct. Also consider that overhead heat sources have an air drying effect so monitor humidity as well

Have you considered a 60 watt daylight bulb for day and 60 watt night bulb(RED LIGHT) for night.
A ceramic heat emitter is HOT watt per watt hotter and a drying type of heat than incandescent. I am not sure a ceramic heat emitter would be okay for amphibians.
It might dry them out while I have used incandescent and never had problem.
A 60 watt bulb would raise temp 10 degrees in your 10 gallon . I would place it on one side of tank cover not middle.
Ofcourse moniter the tank make sure you mist it few times a day if your frog needs it humid as incandescent does dry tho nothing at all like ceramic.
