I am going to the San diego herp expo this weekend. I plan on buying a female there for my male. I live about 6 hours away. I was wondering what is the best way to travel with her. I am taking her cage set-up that I have bought for her so that she has a nice place to stay in during saturday night and part of sunday. Ill keep her in the hotel with my and my boyfriend. But im worrying about the drive. I know it will be stressful for her but im trying to make it not be as much. All the thoughts are helpful.
Just to help out.

Its about a 6 hour drive and should be about 110 degrees that day too.

you might want to put her in small aquarium and put a heat pad under it with food.

no, you dont want to feed a gecko while its stressed.. and if its 110 deg. you wont need a heating pad.. just put it in a small rubbermain with non see through sides to reduce stress

Why do you need to bring him with you if your only going to be gone a day? Just make sure he has fresh water, and a bowl of mealies before you leave. Lights can be put on timers. Leos can go for weeks without food, not saying that, that is good but taking him with you is not needed.

No, I am buying her at the expo in san diego. Im talking about how to take care of her on the way home. I am going to the expo to buy her there. I live in central cali and I have to get her home some way. I aint takin' my leos up there to visit lol. I will be there form friday till sunday night. I am taking a tank with entire set up with light and all for her on when we get back from the expo on saturday and for her on sunday, but i was wondering how to keep her on the way back.

Listen, definitely not food during the trip. The best deal will be to find a delicup and put the gecko inside, with some paper towels, that is actually the way how we ship our geckos. Thanks.
