Beardie Egg Laying Question

bcwatson101 Mar 22, 2005 10:25 AM

Hey guys,
I need an answer to a question that I can not find in any book. My female beardie layed eggs last season and I was blessed with 16 babies. I separated her from the male before the first clutch was layed. My question is will she be laying eggs this season and beyond even though she has been without the male for over a year and will not be with him ever again. She is a large gal and I can't tell if she has eggs or not, unlike last year. She is not digging her whole cage up like last year and when I place her in a egg laying container with dirt/sand like last year, she looks around and wants out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds like she is egg-free for now! There is a possibility that if she senses the male around she can develop infertile eggs. Just keep a close eye on her, you should be fine!
