Building a cage questions

Aisha Mar 22, 2005 12:29 PM

I have been wanting to get a bearded dragon for a while now. I'm in the process of getting supplies to build a Multiple Cage (not in the same cage) display case for all of my lizards. I've being think 48"Wx18"Dx24"H would be the good for an adult bearded's cage. I plan on there being a platform ramping up to the basking spot and around 6-8" away from the UV light. I also want a lower watt ceramic heater in the middle of the cage to slowly adjust the temp from the cooler side of the cage to the basking side. I was going to put sand and tile for the floor. I hope I'm on the right track but if I'm not please tell me. Thank you for reading I'm new beardeds world.

Would work out okay for a smaller sized dragon... we build ours 48" x 24" x 16" high so we can fit them 5 cages high... we use a dual flourescent strip the length of the cage.. one for UVB and one for bright white lighting. We use a single basking spot on a far end of the cage.. between that and the flourescents that's plenty of heat for an enclosed cage.

goodluck,
