Corn Snake breeding Q's

hzahorka Mar 22, 2005 12:34 PM

Hello...
I am new to breeding corns this year and have a couple of questions...
I have a 5 y.o. pair and and a 2.5-3 year old pair. They were all cooled for 6 weeks in temps in the low to mid 50's 98/% of that time. I brought them up, warmed them, fed them several times and both females have shed and they have each mated with their chosen mates 4 times between March 11th and today March 22nd.
My 5 y.o. pair...the male shed early this morning so I placed him and his mate together...his mate took some convincing this time (a good 10-15 minutes) around and she tried to get away a few times where as before she was willing and flagged him with in 2-5 minutes. My questions are...Is 4 breedings good enough? when a female is gravid (even in the early stages) will she start to refuse the male? Will the male loose interest in her or will he keep trying to mate with her?
Thanks,
H~

I frankly have no clue about breeding corns. Have you tried the corn snake forum? May get more answers. Either way, good luck!
