The Indian or Pakistan spotted pond turtle. Really cool turtles.

that would be the much coveted "pakistani spotted pond turtle" or "black spotted pond turtle"
Geoclemmys hamiltonni. Very nice guys
'they get kinda big though and fetch a high price here
I know a guy who paid 1000 USD for one last year.

If that photo is accurate of their adult appearance, I can understand why they would fetch a high price. I'd be tempted myself. I think that's possibly the most striking turtle I've ever seen a picture of.

They are nice - I have a friend that has a few. They need a lot of space.

Look in the book for a website or address to write, or do a search on the web for the person's website or the publishing co's website to email someone.

Let us know when you find out. If you have trouble, let me know what the pub co is and I will look for you.
