Another question.........(Calcium)

southernpawsc Mar 22, 2005 04:31 PM

I have been reading back for an hour now and have seen it said to keep cuttlebone in the tank. If I have a UVB bulb (that is not out of date), do I need extra calcium?

I tried this once, but being a rookie, we finally threw it away. When I buy one, do I knock off or break the thin layer from the plastic part and let it float? It seems like chalk,,,can I expect it to fall apart and disappear before he eats it?

Thanks,
Christi

UVB lighting does not give your animal calcium. Just helps him process it.

Supplementing their food with calcium is a good way to get calcium to them. Another good way is feeding the occasional pinkie mouse.
