pinky preference

silver_arctic1 Mar 23, 2005 12:16 AM

I can't help but think a couple of my babies actually prefer hairless pinkies to furred pinkies. I have two different pet stores that sell the SAME sized pinkies, but one's hairless and the other one has a full body of hair. Two of my hognoses wont give the furred one a second sniff...but will eat the hairless one right away (I've observed this with a few test tries). Any ideas? Thanks.

Why not try rat pups, bigger pinks, no hair!

I guess I'll have to do that when the snakes get too big for pinkies. It's not a big deal, I was just wondering if they'll grow out of it or if it's something that will last.

I just got a hognose from a friend that had't eaten in several weeks. I let it settle in for about a week and offered two Rodentpro peach fuzzies(pretty hairless and a good size)under his hide and he ate both of them.

You might be right.

Check out the Rodentpro website. They are fuzzies that are just starting to get hair. They are fuzzy like a peach.
