cleaning new acrylic tank

i just got my new acrylic tank today. it was wrapped in a heat shrink type plastic sheet and the surface of the tank if covered with a dirty biproduct of it. whats the best way to get it off?

soapy water and a paper towel/sponge. you want to avoid using anything that is abrasive with acrilic tanks because they scratch very easily.

I would advise to NOT use paper towels to clean your tank. The small wooden fibers of the towel can scratch the surface of the acrylic. I use spare rags made of 100% cotton to clean my acrylic.
