Looks like a clown slider to me. We had gotten one into our rescue (a hatchling born with only one eye). I've seen others as well but never larger than hatchling size. Very nice animal. Good luck with it.

Am I correct in assuming that these are produced by manipulating temperatures during incubation or are they genetic derivations. Anyone who can enlighten me, I'd appreciate it.

Yes that is correct. It is incubation related rather than genetic.
