It was kind of nice to see all the "experts" snuffed, that animal was real no ifs, ands,or butts. I personally hope I never cross paths with something like that, having hunted hogs it is amazing to me, (and damn lucky)for the guy who shot it, that one shot is all it took. A wounded 800 pound boar is the stuff of nightmares!
Packing what?? A Howitzer, or maybe a .500 Nitro Express!!! I have taken two Hogs in East Texas that were both over 250lbs. The first one dropped to a single shot from a 7mm-08, and the second one , well lets just say he was tougher than the first.I was standing in the middle of a 40 acre field when I hear this honking sound going on. Well it was the farmer who owned the acreage that I was hunting. The hog was tearing up his round bails of hay. He saw the hog and chased it with his truck right towards me. I saw this hog on a full run coming through a gate area with the farmers red truck close behind. The first thing I did was to look for trees to climb. The trees were 20 to 30 yards away from me. Well that hog saw me in the middle of the field and turned away from me running in the opposite direction. I raised my 7mm-08 put the crosshairs a little in front of him and fired. He fell and slid about 5ft and then got up and ran in the same direction as before. I shot him again and he piled up into a tall berm that serves as a road. I ran towards him and took my .380 out and fired 6 shots at point blank range behind his ear. He was still kicking after all of this. "Tough Critters" I am here to tell ya! Good sausage on the older Boars but you wouldn't want to cook it like a pork loin from the store. We tried this and chewed ,and chewed, and chewed, and the piece of meat never got any smaller.

what is this 800 pound hog everyone is talking about is that true
Put Hogzilla into your search engine and there should be a link/picture of an enormous Boar next to a man.
sounds kind of fishy to me because the man who shot the beast said that he buried it, so there is no real proof except the picture. Can you say Photoshop!!!
take care

Actually, the National Geographic Society sent a crew there and they unearthed the hog and did studies on it. They confirmed that it was about 8 feet long and weighed about 800lbs. It was on television last week, and is going to be rebroadcast soon, but not sure when.

Cool!! I'm glad they verified it, and am glad you told us "thanks"

I would have thought that killing one of those would be a redneck's dream come true and have its head stuffed or something. Personally I would have at least tried to eat it, an animal that large makes it seem quite a waste to loose all that meat. Although I am not sure how good wild boar is, I have never had it.

I find that the best way to wash a vehicle is in the mud.
