Does anyone know exactly what red leg is and if there is a treatment? My great plains toad has come down with an illness and looks close to death, his toes and abdomen and lower parts are very red and I think it could be red leg .He's very stiff and can hardly move and doesn't appear to breathe for several seconds. I hadn't seen him for weeks as he'd been buried in the substrate but then he came up and seemed to be sitting very still for days then I found him, still in a sitting position, but tipped on his side. I thought he was dead and stiff but he was still alive. I've had him for nearly a year and he was in a tank with Bufo bufo and Bufo viridis for all that time and they are all still fine. Maybe it's red leg and maybe it's something else but any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
