I feed my femal crickets cause thats the ONLY thing she will eat. My male used to feed like crazy on crickets but ever since I fed him fuzzy's he refuses to eat anything else. So I dip my fuzzy's every now and then in calcium. I sometimes get him to feed on crickets with a few tricks. I really want to experiment with roaches but they are to expensive.
What are "fuzzies"? What does anyone think about feeding them wet cat food mix, with lettuce? I can't remember the name of the breeder who suggest that, I think it was at www.frilldragon.com. Has anyone ever tried that? My guy only eats crickets too and I have to hand feed them to him.
Thanks

fuzzies are the next step after pinkies. Pinkies are pink, than fuzzies are when the have fur on them, then there are mice.
I know roaches are expensive, but they where the best food when I had frilleds. My animals ate like pigs and produced clutch after clutch. If anyone from this forum wants to try roaches I sell you 40 for the price of 20. Just order 20 and say frilled forum and I'll ship you 40 because I'm a huge frill fan. Most of my dubia and discoids are pretty small, but I do have medium orange heads. If they work out well for you then you can start a colony. Although they are expensive if you spend $50-$100 to start a colony it will pay itself off. My frilleds ate a ton of food. You need to add up your monthy/yearly food bill and I bet its way more than $50-$100. Although it will take time to build the colony they will feed your frilleds and any other insect eating pets you have. If you have local friends you can sell them feeders. Anyway, I'll keep the offer open for a few weeks.

I'll order some from you pretty soon. I want to try and see if they will eat them before I invest in a colony. How hard is it to start a colony and what do I have to do or get to start one up. Please email me at pbguy_1@yahoo.com
Thanks
Jason
I can tell you that roaches are one of the best insects to feed your frills or beardeds, or whatever. The animals that I have that consistently eat roaches are doing the best for me. I buy from blaberus.com, and he porvides some nice stuff. If you can, just get 20 or so adults and try them. Feed them from forceps and see what happens.
Good luck. Mizzy

What roaches do you get? How long do they live? How do you store them? What do you feed the roaches? About how much are they usually and any idea how many would last how long? I've been wondering about them, but just have never asked, so please excuse all the questions.
Thanks!

I have both discoids and orange heads. I got them blaberus.com. I feed them carrots. Keep them in a rack system.. about 100 degrees on the warm end. They dont smell or climb or fly. I hate roaches.. give me the willies. But the frillies love them.

Thanks for your help. I'll check it. Cool picture I've never seen a picture of any reptile actually eating the roaches.
