My leo's have plastic leaves in their tank and the crickets tend to climb in them so what I do when feeding my leos I take everything but their log and water dish out to make sure that they find the crickets. Sometimes but not very often they'll take them from my hand and yes the crickets will bite your leo no matter what size they are. In the past I've had to buy smaller crickets for my leos because the pet store was out of large crickets and they never had any trouble finding them, they just ate more. I hope this helps.

Hey about those crix. What I do is feed my crix in a seperate tank. I have 2 10 gal tanks set up with shelf liner in the bottom. I wrapped newspaper around the outside to reduce reflection and keep the leos from seeing all the activity in my house. (I have 29 pets and 4 in the family) Then I dump 10-15 crix in each tank. Go get 2 leos and put them in the tank with the crix. I turn out the light and leave them to it for 10-15 min. Count how many crix are left, add more to bring back to starting number then replace with 2 differnt leos. Repeat until all have had opportunity to feed.
