Happy Easter! : o )

niki_athena Mar 24, 2005 09:39 AM

Hello,

My pets seem to be doing alright. I have been working 23-30 hours per week at the grocery store as a cashier for a month. I have 4 new pets as of a week and a half ago. They're Laura, Cave Chick (CC for short), Mary Kay, and Tweety. Three Araucana pullets that are to lay green or blue eggs in 5 months. Originally bred by the Araucana Indians of Northern Chile for egg color. The last is a black Silkie not pictured. They are in a 10 gallon with a basking light on one side and water on the other, so they can adjust their temps.

Enjoy

in size since I got them. Now they have little wing feathers and two have tail feathers.

When I first got them I worried about parasites because their feces look a lot like lizards. On the first day they all had really watery poo and after their gizzards developed more their poo solidified. I still wonder... Anyways, I wash my hands inbetween giving the chicks and lizards attention.

that is rather bizarre that they say they are from the north of chile. the araucanas are usually the other name for the mapuches who live in the south of chile, which is equivilent to our north. the mapuches were an awesome tribe, they fought off spanish and eventually chilean conquest attempts for over 300 years. i have their kultrun, the four points of the earth, tatooed on my back to always remind me of my stays in chile.
