red tegu.. not so red.

i've got an almost 2 year old red tegu at home.. had her since she was just months old. she has little red on her and is more of a chocolatey color. is this normal for young reds..will she turn more red w/ time? thanks for any help. -k

female red tegus are not a colorful as adult males are. they are more of what you described as a dull browns etc.
