Finally finished my cage.

coolcritter Mar 24, 2005 01:51 PM

I got it done, Cage is made out of PVC, 3' wide 4' tall and 21 deep
It has coco fiber panels lined on the sides and back wall, Two Florescent lights with a 2.0 and 5.0 bulbs, 100 watt radiant heat panel, ghost wood and plants also from Black Jungle.
I sat it on a vanity cabinet on casters.
Bottom of the cage is 10" deep with 3" of pea gravel and 7 " of tropical dirt mix, I put a drain in it and a misting system as well, Plants are small so I got 2 hanging baskets to fill it.

Pictures do not do this thing any justice.
I will be housing a trio of Fimbriatus in it.

they definately make the cage more full. i added some to mine after i set it up. in a cage that's 4 ft. tall you kind of need something other than branches up there to make it full. works out nicely too because it's near the light that way which is good for it's photosynthesis... here's the one i just set up.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

I got the coco panels from Black Jungle, # cfp-r
It is 2x6 panels and on sale right now for 24.99
You need to click on Landscape then backgrounds.
It attaches with cilicone.
My lights are on the inside front face halfway down on both sides so the plants below get light as well.
I will have about $1350 in this setup with the Fimbritus.
I forgot I have 8 airplants to attach as well.

Good looking enclosure you've got there. The lineatus really love bamboo, if you can get your hands on some with large diameter I would suggest putting some in there. They really enjoy it!

Good luck with the lineds. When do they move in?
