We used Powersun's for a year and had to send them back three times because they kept blowing out. We have just switched to these www.reptileuv.com after hearing a lot of good things.

We purchased the light that also has the heat and place it over their basking spot.

o, but when you had the powersun you only had that on top right? if so where did you put it?

Samurai33 Mar 24, 2005 05:42 PM

Not sure what you mean by only having the Powersun on top, because I don't know were else it would go. So yes, it sat directly on top of the cage screen. We had the light on one side of the tank. This way you have a basking area and a cool area. We have a stepping stone on top of a brick inside directly under the MVB so they can warm their bellies (important). Again, I just started hearing a lot of people complain about their PowerSun's having the same problem we did. The other MVB I mentioned is around $40-, PowerSun you can get online for about $35-40, at Petstores they're usually $70!

Locally in Santa Barbara. He's a bit of work. We've only had him since Dec. And he's a grumpy guy half the time. He likes me the best, I have to hand feed him everyday. He's fast as hell too! He was at the Petstore for about 3 months in a tiny cage near the floor and was a nervous wreck. I think that's why he's difficult now. He doesn't just try and bit, but he does frill and swish his tail alot, but I usually get nipped a few times a week while I'm feeding him. He gets over zealous and over shoots were the cricket is. I'll tell you though, you've never seen anything funnier than one running, with their arms on their side and on two feet. You have to see it.

Samurai33 Mar 24, 2005 07:08 PM

I don't have any pictures. I don't own a camera or cell phone camera. I have to get some. Last I looked (a couple weeks ago) they had gotten what looked a full grown female. She was soooo scared. The store is Sensational Pets. Off upper State St. 805-898-1500. That's where we got ours and two of our beardies. If you come up here he's got all kinds of different lizards.

thats cool do they have a website? you got two of your bearded dragons there? what kind? how much did you get them for? how much are they bearded dragons at that store? do you house your bearded dragons together? sorry for so many questions...

Samurai33 Mar 24, 2005 09:19 PM

No problem with the questions...just know that I'm no expert.
Ok, here's their website, but it's just really one page http://santabarbara.unclewebster.com/lc/bus/1257/index.shtml
We got Zippy (1 1/2 yr) she's gets very light yellow, especially on her head with an orange beard, she has giant in her, but has stayed on the small side. Zoe is a bit more plain (we love her the same) and she too is on the small side she's also 1 1/2 and may of come from the same clutch. They both were $70-, I believe he now charge around $80. He usually always has beardies he's none for them, and he babysits a bunch at the store so you can check other peoples. We do house two of our girls together and one separate (we bought one from a breeder in Texas). Never house a male and female and even females are tricky. Zoe had to be put by herself because she's grown moody. Two are in a 60 gal the other in a 40 gal. Non adhesive shelf liner in both (a God sent). Our Frilled Zeus, is in a custom tank. He was a bit more $180- and my Cmas present from my husband. They all eat crickets, except Zippy who is hand feed a formula (she stopped eating 9 months ago and now is hooked on the juice as I like to say).
