how long does it take ball pythons to shed?

my ball python is going through his first shed cycle, the question i have is how long should it take? he has had hazy-bluish eyes since sunday night, its thursday now, is there something that im doing wrong? thanks for helping

As long as you keep the humidity up in his tank, he should be fine. When they go through a shed cycle, their skin becomes duller, their belly can turn a pinkish color and the eyes become hazed over. His eyes will lose the haze about a day or two before he starts the actual shed. So everything is fine. When you see the eyes turn back to normal then you know he's real close to shedding. Keeping the humidity up as much as possible is key so that the shed doesn't come off in pieces and he loses the eye caps. Especially do it when the eyes lose the hazing since he'll be shedding anytime then. Hope that helps.

Forgot to mention that it can take about a week to ten days to complete the process. So you may have a few more days or so before he starts the actual shed. So, like I said before, he's fine.
