when I first got my new rhino he sat up on the basking site I made but now all he does is bury himself in the timothy hay day and night. I have not changed anything. Is this a bad thing?

I have always preferred to give young rhinos a hide place to feel secure in, but if they are spending all of their time hiding and never basking, something may be wrong. I do not condsider it a good thing. Since you mention that you have not had the ig very long, maybe it still getting acclimated. Is the cage in a warmer location in the house ? Maybe the basking light is now too hot, so your iggy hides to stay cool ? There could be numerous possibilities. Good Luck.
