the suns starting to come out and its starting to warm up. i was woundering what is the best time to find these guys. morning or night or maybe mid-day. what is the best temp? any other information would be great.

You can find them some times in the morning, You can find cal. kings in the mid-day and night, temps. about 87-90'F. Hope this helps Scott Glover
Active mainly at dawn & dusk - like most wild animals. My captive-bred specimens are the same way.
Temperature is a key factor, however. Sometimes they are active at night during very hot weather when daytime temperatures are too high.
For normal spring temperatures & condidtions, seek them in early morning, or late afternoon basking on rocky spots just before dusk.
