Bronx Zoo Reptile House Pics..............

RON745 Mar 24, 2005 07:00 PM

One of the best things about going to the Bronx Zoo in the dead of winter is the fact that the place is completely empty. When I took these pics I was the only person in the entire reptile house. There was probably only about 20 people in the entire zoo! Anyway, I figured I'd share these pics with everyone since most of us appreciate the many different kinds of herps even though we are most passionate about boas. I tried to capture mostly what the enclosures looked like since they are absolutely amazing. This is where I get many ideas for my own enclosures. If I did not zoom in completely on each animal it is for this reason. Hope this gives you all a small peak at some of the exhibits at the Bronx Zoo. Enjoy.--------RON

Pictured here is a Vine Snake. If you look up and to the right you'll find an Amazon Tree Boa

No trip to the zoo is complete without seeing one of these.

Side Note: The boa constrictors are kept in The House Of Darkness at the Bronx Zoo which I did not visit that day - just in case you were wondering where the boas are.

That's hilarious! While reading your post I was estatic that you took a picture of a suriname toad! I totally missed the snakes because that wood looks so much like my pipa pipa!
