Some of my answers....

1 Yes....You could probably get either sex and their size and either are very handleable. Not to mention there are some localitys that stay smaller
2 Yes, that would be perfect. You could always go bigger as well.
3 Sure. Not a problem. They stay small enought that you could just feed them colossal rats. It's just easier to feed larger prey items and some say more nutritional.
4 Depends on if you handle them. Usually they are pretty mellow snakes to begin with. But it all depends on the individual animal and what you think is mellow.
5 Carpet is a negative! Too hard to clean and harbors bacteria. You would be better off with plain old newspaper or shredded Aspen.
6 Yes, there are plenty of nice animlas that you can pick up for 500 and under. You can get a hypo now for almost half that price.
7 There are plenty of good ones out there(not sure who is going to be at the NARBC show. Not to mention I haven't bought from too many to make a recommendation. Talk to each one see what they have to say and determine from your own instinct and the animals they have, who you would buy from.

Hope this helps. Good luck!!

wow holy poop, that is so nice looking, i thgink ill get the argus with my mom and then when she goes and gets something to eat ill by a nice hypo how much do they normal cost like 350 -500

thanks alot

Yes, the lighter one is the hypo. Hypo is short for hypomelanistic which is an overall reduction of black pigment. There is a wide price range for hypos depending on their genetics and overall appearance. You can pay anywhere from $250 to $3000.
But, don't underestimate the beauty of a nice, normal Colombian.

Hey Matt, I know what Salmons and Hypos look like. Take a look at the normal boa you posted below this post, you can see black rings around almost every saddle...the female that I was questioning does not have any black. All the saddles are red/gold color. I had said from the beginning that she was a very nice normal or by deffinition a pastel type animal, but after seeing some other animals that were being sold as proven hypos, I began to wonder what a low grade hypo could look like. I'm a little confused by your post. I wasn't posting this comparison for you. The original poster of this thread asked what a hypo looked like.
I didn't post on your thread below because everyone gave you the correct answer. The best way I can tell you the difference is to look at the black rings around the tail blotches. Don't worry so much about the saddles, because many boas lack black in them.
