Nighttime temps for my BTS?

AlteredMind99 Mar 25, 2005 09:55 AM

I have a BTS who is sick, I have been keeping his day time temps nice and hot (around 95-100) to help him out (of course along with his anti-biotics) but i was wondering about night time temps, how low can they tolerate at night? He has a large UTH, should this be enough at night or should he have a red or black light to add supplemental heat?

TIA

I would personally keep nighttime temps about the same - especially since sick. If that means getting an infrared heat lamp to make up for any daylight heating sources I'd do that. I keep all my animals at the same temps both day and night. There might be a 2 degree drop in temp at night due to room temp changes, but for the most part they stay the same.

Hope your bluey gets well soon!

I hope so too...he was doing better but as soon as i stopped the meds he relapsed. I work at a vet clinic so my vet took a look at him and now he is on an injectable anti-biotic which she says might have much better results than an oral one. He seems to be looking a bit better so hopefully everything will be ok...
