What are the smallest monitors available?

JamesBryan Mar 25, 2005 04:50 PM

I am looking at ackies (red). Are there other colorful monitors of even smaller size? Any monitors available of smaller size than ackies no matter how "drab"?

On occasion, you can find V. gilleni and V. caudolineatus.. I believe they are smaller than ackies, and V. storri is available on occasion; they are smaller than ackies as well.

I believe the smallest is the v. brevicauda. As Bob mentioned below, there are other species smaller than ackies and sporadically available. The Storrs is a cute little guy, only about 12" and there is one currently in the classifieds for a very reasonable price. I got mine from this seller and he is very healthy. Good luck.

Hi Pam, I have raised several Storrs to 22 inches. So 12 inches is a little misleading.

Did you get yours from Lou, if you did, it could be one of mine. Thanks FR

Hi Frank,

I was just referring to an "average" size from reading I have done and the size of my little guy. I'm sure there are a multitude of sizes around. Certainly don't mean to mislead anyone.

Yes, I did get mine from Lou, so he probably is one of yours. He is one cute litte fella that I named Spunky.

I love the dwarf monitors and would like to have other species but they seem to be hard to come by. What dwarf species do you still raise and may have for sale from time to time?

Thanks for the information.

Pam
