That's my mean queen. She has been decent lately but soon enough she will be back to her ol self once it warms up a little more. She's a great looker anyway. Tom Stevens

Question.....is hybino a hypomelanistic albino animal? I have always been confused by the term hybino because if hypomelanism is reduction of black pigment and albinism is absence of black pigment wouldn't the albinism negate the hypomelanism? Either way that is one awesome looking animal. Is that what some call the "rusty"?

Hey Derek, she is not a Rusty...those are different. Hybinos are not easily explained but when you look at a few Hybinos and a few Amels you should see a noticeable difference. Even more confusing is the father is a Ghost, which some feel is Axanthic. It is an odd occurance in Sonorans that there is no Snow, it goes straight into Blizzard. And that even though Axanthic is a more proper term the Ghosts[Axanthics] lose thier pattern in thier mid sections but have strongly patterned necks and tails? Breed my Hybino to my Ghost and you get Hypo, Hybino, Ghost and Axanthics. After several test breedings Jason at Envy feels there is just something unusual goin on the defies regular predictables concerning genetics. Tom Stevens

Hey bro, she will breed my Ghost, and next year I hope to breed a Hypo they produced in 04 back to the Ghost too. These are really cool to work with.... Tom Stevens

Hey Tom
She's looking pretty sharp and gruthy

She is awesome, as you know...I think as far as morphs go the Gophers are very under rated. They're some of the best looking snakes money can buy, and better yet...reasonably priced! Tom Stevens

Tom,

Here is a photo of my Sonoran "hybino". She's a lot more hypo in appearance than most of the hybinos I've seen. Just thought I'd share the photo. Thanks.

Tom,

Here are a couple more photos of her. She's from what everyone calls a ghost ( het for blizzard ) X albino ( het for blizzard ). Personally, I don't think they're true ghosts, and I should have my answer next year if all goes well. Thanks.

Tom,

This is a photo of a clutchmate to the "hybino" - this one is hypo. Thanks.

That Hybino looks way different. I think it is very interesting and quite awesome. I would really like to see more pics of both. I will email Jason at Envy to chime in with pics of more Amels, Hypos and Hybinos too. I also have a buddy who bought a Hybino from my 04 clutch....I will try n get pics of that too. Thanks for posting Tom Stevens

Hello Bob
Those are awesome Sonorans you got their . Your Hypo line has faded colors at first glance it looked anery . They are pretty interesting morphs , I like a them a lot .

These are hypos from the Blizzard line . Its hard to get quality pics that show there true colors .
