This may be a little off topic but I had to post it . . . Two weeks ago my dad called and said he wanted me to come retrieve the geckos that had made a home in their kitchen cabinets. Apparently my mother didn't find it funny when they jumped into her hair before she had her coffee in the morning. So I went and removed the critters. A few days later I was at home making supper and the neighbor kid came into our house saying I had to come quick that there was a snake in his grandpa's truck. So I run to the neighbor's, bare foot mind you, and spent some time removing a carpet python from his truck. All's well and good though I have begun to stratch my head in wonder. (I'll tell you why in a moment.) Still a few days after this I'm watching the news and the phone rings. A friend who knows I do wildlife rehab and rescue called on her cell phone frantic that she had just run over something. So I throw blankets and gloves and a carrier into the car and drive to her location twenty minutes away. When I get there I start with the spotlight and realize that she has run over an already dead emu. We drag it off the road and both go home. I'm flaberghasted by this point. (One more little story and I'll tell you why) So last night, my hubby and I went to a city north of here to do some shopping and on the way home in the dark driving through a construction zone I noticed an animal lying in the shoulder. At first glance I was certain that it was a kangaroo. My husband said I must just be seeing things so I turned around and went back and sure enough it was a full grown kangaroo. We couldn't move it ourselves so we left it and went home. Now I am pinching myself and checking the address on our house and looking at maps and wondering what is happening. All of this wouldn't be so strange if I lived in Australia . . . but I don't. I live in the middle of the great plains in the middle of the USA where none of these animals are native but I'm really beginning to wonder if the continents haven't started merging all over again.

Strange...almost sounds like a zoo or circus train lost all their animals...I mean seriously what are the chances lol? Sort of related to this I guess...my friend's uncle was looking their backyard when he was little. A circus train had apparently lost a spitting cobra or rinkhals or something of the sort. The cobra actually was found in their backyard when it shot my friend's uncle in the face. So who knows...stranger stuff has happened. Andy
