Maybe I'm not looking in the right place... but....

Seems as though all the research I am doing I would find the answer to this question. I've gone to many sites and researched Tree Boas, both ATB and ETB, I have found out everything except: When they say garden phase, or halloween phase, what exactly is meant by phase? Also, when looking through the classifieds on Kingsnake.com it is mentioned that the color is good for 2-3 years. Does that mean it will change colors or lose it's color? Thanks to anyone that can answer these questions!

you can take 2 atbs that are the same color and they can have have many different colored babies, they say young atbs may lose some of their reds, phase may not be the right word.etbs are born reddish or orange and gradually change green

Phase refers to the color phase. ATB's come in all kinds of colors with garden phase being the most common. Garden phase refers to the animals that are usually some shade of brown, taupe, burgundy or grey with patterning. Halloween phase typically refers to very young garden animals where their white patterning is red or orange. This coloration changes over time to the typical white or cream. Other color phases are yellows, oranges, tigers, reds and all of the aforementioned with varying degrees of patterning. Look through the Tree Boa gallery and you will get some idea of the variety in ATB coloration. As far as color being good for 2-3 years, not entirely sure what is meant by that, but I do know that some ATB's which are born a solid color (usually yellow or orange) will develop more patterning as they reach sexual maturity at 2-4 years. Hope that helps. Here is a picture of my little garden phase ATB.
