My 12 year old African bullfrog seemed to be in a semi-hibernative state about a month ago. She often goes weeks without eating or moving very much, so I wasn't too concerned. Finally I decided to bring her home (from my classroom) and she seemed to have one lower eye membrane stuck over her eye -- I warmed her with moist air and heat and kept her thoroughly hydrated. She seemed to get better over the weekend but I took her to a vet anyway on Monday (2 weeks ago). Of course, the vet charged me $27 to tell me that she didn't know what the problem was and that I could expect to start having things like this with a frog as old as Jabba. Anyway, she has eaten and I've kept a close watch on her. I thought she was doing well until today. She is very bloated, looks as if she's going to explode. And she's not moving. It's the weekend and the closest vet school is 2 hours away. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thank you. Joann
